NSU rebel wins Thakurram Campus in Birgunj

BIRGUNJ, March 23: Independent Nepal Students´ Union candidate Mukesh Dwivedi has won the Free Students´ Union presidency at Thakurram Multiple Campus in this eastern town.



He got 598 of the 2678 votes cast.



Official NSU candidate, Pramod Yadav, won the vice-presidency while the post of secretary has been bagged by another rebel NSU contestant, Rakesh Yadav.



There were 7672 student voters in this college, one of the oldest and biggest in the Tarai but because of serial bomb blasts on the voting day Thursday the turnout was low.
