The NSP made the decision, alleging that the Maoists´ declaration of Madhes autonomous state failed to include all territory of Madhes.
Addressing a press conference in Janakpur, NSP Acting President Bikash Tiwari said they are planning to announce Madhes Autonomous State from Janakpur. The state will include five sub-states.
Earlier, the UCPN (Maoist) announced Madhes Autonomous State that includes 11 Tarai districts. The Maoist-declared Madhes state includes three sub-states namely Saptari-Sarlahi (five districts), Mithila, Rautahat-Parsa (three districts) and Awadh sub states.
According to Tiwari, the five sub-states will include Jhapa-Sunsari (three districts), Birat-Saptari-Sarlahi (five districts), Mithila-Rautahat-Parsa (three districts), and Bhojpuri-Nawalparasi-Kapilvastu (four districts). Awadh-Dang-Kanchanpur (five districts) and Tharuhat are among the sub-states in the Madhes Autonomous State proposed by the NSP.
Tiwari alleged that the Maoists weakened Madhes by declaring separate Kochila and Tharuwan autonomous states within Madhes.
