Party chief Sarita Giri told myrepublica.com that her party´s central committee meeting on Wednesday had decided to withdraw from the government. "Now we will play the role of constructive opposition," said Giri, adding that the decision was taken in the wake of the government moving ahead with ordinances.
Two other reasons that led her party to withdraw support to the government are worsening security situation in the Tarai and the government policy on the integrated administrative service centers. Giri said her party will also push aggressively for One-Madhes-One-Province demand in the days to come.
As the NSP-A, a Madhesi party, has only two members in the Constituent Assembly, the decision in only symbolic. Another Madhesi party, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party, has already decided to withdraw its support to the government.
