Koirala and Lama were appointed as members of the NSC from the National Sports Association. Koirala was nominated from Nepal Paralympic Committee, while Lama was nominated from Nepal Shotokan Karate Association.
There is a provision to nominate three members as board members of the NSC from the national games association affiliated to the council. Earlier, Samim Miyan Ansari was appointed the member of NSC from Nepal Kyukoshin Budokai Kan.
Kabbadi players selected for 11th SAG
KATHMANDU, Nov 5: Thirty six kabbadi players, including 16 women, have been selected in the second round to participate in the 11th South Asian Games (SAG).
Nepal Army´s Dambar Baduwal, Jaya Bohara, Mahesh Bohara, Man Bahadur Ranabhat, Bhuwan Khadka, Bijaya Chand, Hem Bahadur Basnet and Yuvaraj Shrestha; Central Region´s Sanjay Shrestha, Kewal Raut, Munna Patel, Nawal Raut, Shyam Krishna Basukala and Amardeep Shrestha; Western Region´s Naresh Chaudhary and Chet Narayan Chaudhary; Eastern Region´s Devesh Jha; and Far-Western Region´s Dharme Sunar were selected in the men´s category.
In the women´s section, Saraswati Thapa, Sangeeta Gautam, Netra Kumari Thapa, Nirmala Bista, Shanti Malla, Neetu Gurung and Rukmini Chand of Nepal Police; Kosmaya Basnet, Meenu Gurung, Sushila Magar, Kelly Gurung, Kalpana Shrestha and Rajani Gurung of Nepal Army; Eastern Region´s Ramita Thapa Magar; Central Region´s Sanjana Tamang and Ambika Mandal; Western Region´s Ranjita Paudel; and Far-Western Region´s Yashoda Bista were selected.
The final round of selection will take place between November15-17 in which 12 players each from men´s and women´s categories will be selected.
Arniko, LRI in LA basketball final
KATHMANDU, Nov 5: Arniko and LRI entered the final round in the senior boys´ section of the First LA Inter School Basketball Championship on Thursday.
Arniko defeated Pushpa Sadan 70-61 in which Himal Tamang contributed 23 points for Arniko. LRI ended the challenge of Ideal Model School with a 44-34 win. Prakash Tiwari scored 11 points for LRI.
In the senior girls´ section, Gyanodaya Balbatika and Rara Hill reached the final. Gyanodaya Balbatika secured an easy 30-15 victory over Arniko in the first semifinal game. Anita Rai netted 14 points for Gyanodaya. Rara Hill thrashed GEMS 28-2 with Bhumika Maharjan´s 12 points for the winning team.
