According to the NSC, the council was formed to coordinate with Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) for the management of disaster resulted by Saturday's devastating earthquake.
The council is comprised of senior NSC officials Tilak Bahadur Raut, Bijendra Hamal, Prakash Pradhan, Bashudev Acharya, Suresh Kumar Dhungana, Indra Bahadur Karki, Tilotama Bashyal, Kishore Singh Shahi, Babukaji Shrestha, Kumar Basnet, Kamal Lama and Mahesh Karki.
The council is shouldered with the task of preparing the report of destruction brought upon by the quake at regional and district sports councils to assist the MoYS council.
The council has been directed to appoint and disseminate volunteers to assist in the task.
The meeting held on Wednesday by the council with NSC officials, members, department heads, senior officers and chaired by NSC member secretary Yubaraj Lama has decided to deposit relief fund from NSC officials at the Prime Minister's Natural Disaster Relief Fund.
The meeting has also decided to immediately launch a cleaning camp and other taslks from the NSC officials, employees and players at the venues affected by the quake.
The tremor has brought upon destruction at the NSC central building, Sports Development Academy in Satdobato, National Table Tennis Training Center in Lainchaur among others in the capital.
At a time when the country is going through a critical phase due to the natural disaster, the officials and employees of the NSC have assured to provide help up to their capacity at the same meeting.
The meeting also mourned the death of volleyball chief coach Keshablal Shrestha and others.
