KATHMANDU, July 2: Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has expressed happiness over the parliament passing the Open University Bill.
NRNA, which has been initiating for formulating the policy to establish open universities since long, said that it believes that the policy will take their initiation to a logical conclusion.
“Open universities will be a medium to hand over the skills and knowledge earned in foreign to Nepal” NRNA Chairman Shesh Ghale said,”Though the Bill is not in the structure that we wanted, but still we think that it’s a good step”
NRNA had asked to include 6 members representing their Regional Committee, in the university management committee.
However, there is a provision of including just three members including a woman in recently passed bill.
NRNA also had offered financial help and partnership to run the university, according to Ghale.
NRNA has also thanked all who were involved in drafting and passing the bill.
