These sectors have been identified as the essential sectors by the government and the NRN Association (NRNA) would coordinate with the government and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) for joint investment in these sectors, the declaration said, hailing the government´s decision to recognize next fiscal year as ´Investment Year´.[break]
Getting more specific, the declaration has expressed NRNA´s commitment to develop a hydropower project with capacity of 100 MW.
The commitment, however, remains silent on the location of the project, timeframe from construction and investment required for the project. But it has called for the government´s support in launching the project.
The three-day event has also pushed for the need to improve human resources for overall development of the country, while expressing commitment to expedite knowledge, skills and technology transfer process from abroad.
A permanent structure would also be created to oversee progress on some of the works on technology transfer initiated in the past, according to the declaration.
Calling on the government to make foreign employment sector more secure, dignified and organized, the declaration has also asked the government to amend the current foreign employment policy.
NRNA has also committed to initiate a move to monitor effective implementation of matters that were promised through past declarations.
The sixth NRN global summit will be held in Kathmandu in October 2013.
