KATHMANDU, Sept 28: The amount of gold that can be imported to the country daily has been fixed at 20 kg.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) today amended the 'Integrated Circular-2079' and increased the amount of gold that can be imported. Earlier, there was a provision that gold could be imported up to 10 kg per day.
In mid-February 2022, after pressure on foreign exchange reserves, the NRB reduced the gold import quota from 20 kg to 10 kg per day. Gold and silver traders had been demanding to increase the import quota.
