NRB starts to weigh gold seized from TIA

KATHMANDU, Aug 14: The Mint Division of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has started weighing the gold which is said to be around 100 kg and which was seized from outside the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) a few weeks back.

KATHMANDU, Aug 14: The Mint Division of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has started weighing the gold which is said to be around 100 kg and which was seized from outside the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) a few weeks back.


About 100 kg of gold recovered from Tribhuvan International Airport on July 18 is being weighed today by the NRB. After the request of the Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) for the gold weighing process, the seized gold is being weighed today.

The gold weighing process has been shown to journalists. Gold is being weighed outside the Mint Division of the NRB. There is a heavy presence of the Nepali Army and Nepal Police at the gold weighing site. The gold recovered from outside the TIA was kept at the Mint Division of the NRB.
