NRB presents 190 recommendations to finance ministry to prepare budget

KATHMANDU, May 14: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has submitted 190 recommendations to the Ministry of Finance for the budget of the next fiscal year 2024/25.


The Governor of NRB, Maha Prasad Adhikari, said that he presented 190 suggestions for the budget of the next fiscal year 2024/25 in the Economic Committee meeting under the House of Representatives on Monday.

He also said that recommendations have been made to the Ministry of Finance based on the suggestions collected from all the seven provinces. He said that the NRB has collected pre-budget suggestions from all seven provinces and submitted them to the Ministry of Finance.


The recommendations encompass various sectors, with 19 focused on tourism, 25 on agriculture, animal husbandry, and forestry, 10 on industry, and an additional 10 on monetary and banking affairs.


He said, "We've consistently offered recommendations to the government aimed at addressing the challenges faced by each province. Our suggestions for the upcoming fiscal year's budget have been presented. We have provided the Ministry of Finance with 190 suggestions, encompassing 19 pertaining to tourism, 25 to agriculture, livestock, and forestry, 10 to industry, and 10 to monetary and banking matters."
