NRB issuing 700 million coins of denominations Re 1 and Rs 2

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has invited global tenders for the design, minting, and transportation of coins in denominations of Re 1 and Rs 2.

KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has invited global tenders for the design, minting, and transportation of coins in denominations of Re 1 and Rs 2.



The Currency Management Department of the NRB issued a notice inviting sealed bids from international security minting companies. Under the plan, the central bank is issuing 400 million coins of Re 1 denomination and 300 million coins in denomination of Rs 2.

The notice states that individuals or entities blacklisted under the Public Procurement Act 2006 as well as companies associated with their directors, are ineligible to participate in the bidding process.
