KATHMANDU, Oct 25: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) will exclusively sell gold coins on Tuesday, October 29, for Dhanteras. The public can purchase gold coins weighing 2.5 grams each.
Depending on the stock of available coins, sales will begin at 11 am and will continue until 4 pm.
NRB sells 43,000 gold and silver coins in five days
Similarly, silver coins and medallions will be available for sale from October 27 to October 30. Each person can purchase a maximum of five silver coins.
Purchasers will be able to buy five types of silver coins: a 25-gram cow coin, a 10-gram cow coin, a 10-gram Laxmi coin, a 10-gram Ganesh coin, and a 10-gram Gajalaxmi coin.
The NRB has stated that the price of silver medallions has increased this year. The price of each coin and medallion has risen by between Rs 200 to Rs 650.
This year, Dhanteras and Dhanvantari fall on October 30. There is a tradition of purchasing items such as gold and silver for Dhanteras and Dhanwantari.
