Joint Spokesperson of the NRA, Manohar Ghimire said that their names would be removed from the list of beneficiaries if they do not take the first tranche within the deadline. As per the statistics of the NRA as of today, out of 826,333 beneficiaries, only 766,317 have signed the grant agreement. More than 60,000 earthquake survivors, enlisted in the list of the beneficiary, have not come to sign the grant agreement yet.
Earthquake-affected beneficiaries have to contact their respective ward offices to sign the grant agreement. The NRA urged such beneficiaries to receive Rs 50,000 as the first tranche within June 16. Out of 766,317 beneficiaries, who have signed a grant agreement, 761,542 people have taken the first tranche till today. As per NRA criteria, the beneficiaries could file an application for Rs 150,000 as the second tranche after the construction of the foundation of the house. The local-level would help the beneficiaries to sign a grant agreement and to provide the first tranche, according to the NRA.
