KATHMANDU, Dec 23: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has instructed the bodies concerned to complete the remaining works of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) on time.
Speaking at a meeting of the Board of Directors of NRA, Prime Minister Deuba expressed confidence that there would be no shortage of budget for the remaining reconstruction works.
The meeting of the Board of Directors has also decided regarding the transfer of functions, rights, liabilities, assets, files, documents and details under NEA. Facilitation, coordination and monitoring of the reconstruction and rehabilitation work being carried out by various ministries, departments and agencies handed over from the NRA will now be done through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA).

NRA Chief Executive Officer Sushil Gyawali, while discussing the achievements gained, said that disaster resilience development should be taken as an integral part of the national development plan and the NDRRMA should be provided with necessary legal management and manpower along with special legal powers.
Similarly, the NRA has been given the responsibility of preparing the integrated financial statement of the current and capital expenditure for the Fiscal Year 2021/22 and auditing related work.
The NDRRMA will now look after the earthquake housing reconstruction project being implemented as per an agreement with the World Bank.
The Department of Urban Development and Building Construction under the Ministry of Urban Development will look after the physical construction work of Dharahara, Singha Durbar, Ranipokhari's Shantibatika Block, Harihar Bhawan and Ranodeep Durbar under Narayanhiti Museum.
