KATHMANDU, March 12: The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has recommended to the government to provide Rs 200,000 each to the earthquake affected households to purchase land for the construction of house in safer areas.
NRA proposes bringing four CLPIUs under its authority
A meeting of the NRA Executive Committee presided over by Chief Executive Officer Prof Dr Govinda Raj Pokharel on Friday recommedned to the Council of Ministers to provide the amount to 1,500 households as recommended by the taskforce to identify unsafe settlements for the purpose of shifting them to secured zones, shared NRA Spokesperson Yam Lal Bhusal.
With this, the families living in earthquake-torn zones would get additional grants for the construction of their private houses It may be noted that the process has already started to distribute grants of Rs 300,000 for the construction of private houses in different pahses.
Likewise, the meeing has also decided to enlist 15,743 people of 14 districts out of 17 earthquake affected surveyed by NRA as beneficiairies for grants for the same. .
After the meeting, CEO Dr Pokharel informed that the teams coordinated by NRA Executive Members are reaching out to the districts to conduct orientation on grant agreement from March 14. RSS
