KATHMANDU, Nov 17: Nepal Press Union (NPU) has constituted various 15 departments in accordance with the NPU Statute 2048 BS (sixth amendment-2079 BS). NPU President Shiva Lamsal has appointed coordinators to each department.
The newly formed departments are Discipline Department (coordinated by senior Vice President Prem KC), Training ( Nakul Aryal), Coordination ( Bhishma Raj Ojha), Publication and Publicity ( Dipendra Bantawa), Women ( Saloja Dahal), Journalism Promotion ( Jeevan Bhandari), Code of Code Implementation ( Madhav Aryal), Press Freedom Monitoring (Rhishikant Paudel), Law( Dr Murari Adhikari), Trade Union Promotion ( Rajendra Karki), Journalism Research (Anil Kumar Karna), Working Journalists Rights Protection (Dilliram Khatiwada), Journalism Promotion in rural areas ( Prem Chunara), Organisation Department ( Dilip Paudel) and Economic ( Madhav Dhital).
Oli to address meeting of UML central departments
Lamsal said the newly established NPU bodies are expected to contribute to consolidating the atmosphere for the development of professional journalism and free Press and the expression of opinion, promotion of democracy, for Union's institutional development and for the enhancement of institutional norms and values.
