KATHMANDU, Dec 4: Kathmandu Gurkhas have secured their first victory by defeating Karnali Yaks today in the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL).
In the match held at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Wednesday, Kathmandu Gurkhas defeated Karnali Yaks by three wickets. The Yaks set a target of 150 runs, which the Gurkhas chased down in 19.3 overs, losing 7 wickets. Earlier, batting first the Yaks had scored 149 runs, losing 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Shikar Dhawan made a half century for the Yaks with an unbeaten 72 runs off 51 balls, smashing 4 fours and 5 sixes. For the Gurkhas, on the other hand, Sumit Maharjan contributed unbeaten 40 runs, playing 37 balls and hitting 3 fours and 1 six. Similarly, Gerhard Erasmus scored 38 runs, while captain Karan KC made 28 runs.
The Yaks have suffered their second consecutive loss with this defeat. This is Kathmandu Gurkhas’s first victory in the NPL. Kathmandu had previously lost by 8 wickets to Chitwan Rhinos in their first match.
