KATHMANDU, Dec 2: Chitwan Rhinos began their Nepal Premier League (NPL) campaign with a five-wicket victory over Kathmandu Gurkhas on Monday, securing two points.
Chasing a target of 112 runs set by Kathmandu, Chitwan reached it in 17 overs, losing only five wickets. Santosh Karki led the scoring with an unbeaten 28 runs off 31 balls, hitting two fours and a six. Luc Benkenstein added 22 runs, while Sharad Vesawkar remained not out with 11.

Despite Shahab Alam’s three-wicket haul for Kathmandu, Chitwan comfortably claimed the match.
Earlier, batting first Kathmandu managed 111 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Sumit Maharjan and Michael Levitt contributed 29 and 25 runs respectively. Sohail Tanvir delivered a stunning performance with the ball for Chitwan, taking five wickets for just 21 runs in four overs.
