The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office (KVTPO) recently implemented the rule into effect at major road segments in the Valley. According to the KVTPO, the maximum speed limit has been fixed at 50 km per hour along the Kalanki-Koteshwor and Koteshwor-Bhaktapur segments. The limit has been set at 20 km per hour for vehicles operating on the service tracks of these roads.

The KVTPO says it has capped the vehicle speed, aiming to control road accidents caused by over speeding.

Anyone found breaching the rule will be slapped with a cash penalty.
