Supreme Court cancels today's proceedings amid bomb threat

A bomb threat message from unidentified phone number sent the staff of the Supreme Court outdoors today. The message was sent to Narayan Panthi, the court's spokesperson. The message stated that three bombs had been planted at the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court canceled all of the court's proceedings and hearings for today to search the premises and ensure safety.

Home Ministry transfers three CDOs

Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has transferred Chief District Officer (CDO) of three districts. Just five days remaining for the first phase of election, MoHA has transferred Bhupendra Thapa of Solukhumbu, Jagdish Raj Baral of Nuwakot and Heera Devi Poudel of Rasuwa. Talking with Republica, spokesperson of the ministry Narayan Sharma said,” The ministry has decided to transfer the CDOs of three districts. Newly appointed CDOs will assume the office immediately.”

Nepal-India border to be sealed for three days

Nepal-India border in Baitadi, a district of the Province 7, is to be sealed for three days in view of the first round of the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies scheduled for November 26. Borders neighboring India will also be closed for 72 hours. Movements of vehicles and people except ambulance and sick shall be banned along the border during the period of border sealing. 

Public-private cooperation stressed to meet SDGs

Public-private sectors should work in a coordinated way to meet the sustainable development goals (SDGs), stressed representatives from organizations concerned. Though Nepal has abundant potentialities for investment in agriculture, tourism, and energy, such potentialities have not been tried much, they said, insisting on the need to take measures to bring additional foreign investment to home.

South Korea, Japan welcome U.S. relisting North Korea as sponsor of terrorism

South Korea and Japan on Tuesday welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s move to put North Korea back on a list of state sponsors of terrorism, saying it will ramp up pressure on the reclusive regime to get rid of its nuclear weapons. The designation announced on Monday, allows the United States to impose more sanctions on North Korea, which is pursuing nuclear weapons and missile programs in defiance of U.N. Security Council sanctions. South Korea said it expected the listing to contribute to peaceful denuclearization, the foreign ministry said.

Asia region match abandoned in consecutive days

Nepal Women national cricket team has moved up to the second position at the ICC Women’s World T20 Asia Region qualifiers points table after the match against Hong Kong Women was washed away on Tuesday at Bangkok, Thailand.
