Adhikari was murdered nine years ago by the erstwhile Maoist rebels. “The government instructed the Nepal Police based on a letter submitted by the National Human Rights Commission. The investigation process will not be stopped because it is the government"s duty is to enforce the laws,” Minister Paudel, who is also the government spokesperson, told media persons at Dolakha district headquarters Charikot on Wednesday. “I reiterate that the investigation process will be carried out at any cost.”
Asked about UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Dahal"s pressure not to take up the issue, Paudel claimed that Dahal wouldn"t take it seriously “because he is a wise leader”.
“The government is confident that Dahal will not take government"s decision in a negative light because he is a responsible leader of the country,” he said. He added that such issues have been complicated due to delay in the formation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
The elderly parents of Krishna Prasad Adhikari have been staging fast-unto-death for over three weeks demanding proper investigation and action against those involved in their son"s murder.
