KATHMANDU, Aug 31: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has hiked the price of cooking gas heavily by Rs 235 per cylinder to be effective from Thursday midnight.
Along with the cooking gas, the NOC also increased the price of petrol by Rs 4 per liter and those of diesel and kerosene each by Rs 3 per liter. The state-owned oil monopoly says it has hiked the prices due to an increase in its import bills.
NOC hikes fuel prices
According to the NOC, in the new price list that it received from the Indian Oil Corporation on Thursday, the Indian oil supplier has raised the price of petrol by Rs 3.17 per liter, that of diesel by Rs 2.48 per liter and cooking gas by Rs 186.45 per cylinder.
At the revised rates, cooking gas now costs Rs 1,895 per cylinder, petrol costs Rs 179.50 per liter and diesel costs Rs 167.50 per liter.
