LAHAN, Nov 19: An unidentified group hijacked a tanker carrying around 9000 liters of diesel from Lahan of Siraha district on Monday night.
The tanker (Na 4 Kha 4163) was en route to Biratnagar from Amlekhgunj of Bara district when the group hijacked it in Lahan, according to the police. It is said that the group comprised of eight masked men. They have remained absconding. The tanker has not been found yet.
Foul play has been suspected in hijacking the tanker, local authorities said.
The state-owned oil monopoly Nepal Oil Corporation has formed a probe committee over the incident.
