KATHMANDU, Nov 3: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Gagan Thapa said that there is no possibility for early election as demanded by the main opposition party CPN-UML.
Speaking at a program organized on Wednesday, Thapa said that only the election of local levels will be held in April. He clarified that no other elections will be held before their designated dates. Leader Thapa also said that the elections are being held for the vacant posts in the National Assembly and that the government is preparing plans to hold by-elections for the vacant posts of House of Representatives (HoR) and the provincial assembly.

“The NC has become a major party by fighting the elections alone in the past. It will fight the elections alone this time as well,” Thapa said. “The NC will win in the federal, provincial and local elections against the CPN-UML by fighting the elections alone,” he added.
Stating that he had met with NC’s President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to get information regarding the positive and negative works done by the government, leader Thapa said that he had urged the government to work in favor of the general public.
Also speaking on the occasion, Minister for Physical Infrastructure of Bagmati Province, Krishnalal Bhandel said that the province government will do its work responsibly. Similarly, NC’s Bhaktapur Chapter President, Durlab Thapa said that an investigation should be conducted to find the source of income of politicians.
NC’s Suryabinayak Chapter President Nishan Dhungel, former Chairman Besh Bahadur Karki of Gundu Village Development Committee, and NC’s Chairman for Ward 7, Jagdish Basnet have claimed that the NC will emerge victorious in every place of Bhaktapur in the upcoming elections
