BIRATNAGAR, Jan 29: Rastriya Janashakti Party Chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa on Saturday said the Maoists had not yet prepared credible ground to be allowed to head a new government.

During an interaction held in Biratnagar on Saturday, Chairman Thapa said the Maoists must first bring concrete action plan for the management of combatants, including fixing the number for integration into various security agencies. [break]

“Maoist leadership cannot be accepted just because the combatants have been brought under the control of Special Committee. The Maoists must prepare concrete framework for integration,” he said.

He also urged the Maoists to facilitate management of Maoist combatants so as to conclude the ongoing peace process.

Thapa said there is a slim chance of forming a new government even in the 17th round of prime ministerial election slated for February 3 if the three major parties fail to forge consensus.
