The largest party in the Constituent Assembly (CA) has been protesting against the president’s move to reinstate the army chief, who was sacked by the Prime Minister and Unified CPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
The politburo meeting will resume on Sunday, according to a party leader.
The second largest party in the House, Nepali Congress, has proposed that the third largest CPN (Unified Marxist-Leninist) lead the next government.
Most of the central committee members of the CPN-UML in its meeting on Friday suggested the party to lead a new coalition government.
The President had given a five-day period to political parties to form a national consensus government. Prime Minister Dahal had announced his resignation on May 4.
