KATHMANDU, Mar 3: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has clarified that it has not published any information about its any intention to close social networking sites Facebook and Twitter, terming the information about the closure of the sites provided by the social site users fake.
"The government is seriously concerned over the issue. The Ministry and its subordinate bodies have not published any information related to the issue. The information spread by the users is fake. Action will be taken against the information providers who spread the fake information," read a statement issued by the ministry's spokesperson and joint secretary Rishiram Tiwari.
The statement also urged those who posted such information to take out it, and asked the users not to post fake reports, posts and information. RSS
