KATHMANDU, May 30: The government has not raised the salary of government employees this fiscal year.
However, Finance Minister Mahara in his budget speech mentioned that the government will form a high level committee to review the salary of government employees and take an appropriate decision.
Minister Mahara announced to introduce a contribution-based pension system for government employees effective from the new fiscal year.
While stating that the formulation of the draft of a new Act is currently underway, Mahara said the ongoing House session will endorse the Act to bring the new pension system into implementation.
