KATHMANDU, June 11: Doctors involved in the treatment of Nepali Congress leader Shailaja Acharya said that there was no improvement in her condition.

Acharya is under ventilator support at ICU of TU Teaching Hospital.

Senior doctor Kabirnath Yogi said there is no improvement in her condition ever since she was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday.

Acharya, 67, was admitted to the hospital after her condition deteriorated yesterday. She is suffering from problems in chest and lungs.

Doctors said her heart was beating and kidney was working, but anything can happen as she is on ventilator support.

Her assistant Sunita said Acharya was rushed to hospital after she could not take medicine and her body gradually turned bluish.

After problems in lungs since two years ago, Acharya was taken to Bangkok for treatment.

She was taken back to Kathmandu four months ago following six-month treatment in Bangkok. She was shifted to her residence two months ago.

Senior NC and UML leaders, ministers, CA members, NC cadres and her well-wishers reached Teaching Hospital to inquire about her condition.
