NEPALGUNJ, Jan 26: CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal has trashed Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai´s claim that the present government will be transformed into a national consensus coalition.

"A national consensus coalition under Bhattarai is not possible because the government is taking one after another decisions against public interest," Khanal said while addressing the orientation program for UML cadres at Kohalpur in Banke district on Thursday.[break]

Though Khanal emphasized the need for forming a national consensus government, he didn´t say who should lead such a coalition.

"It is clear from the government´s working style that the twin tasks of constitution writing and peace process will get nowhere," Khanal argued. "Instead of depending on this government we should form a national consensus government soon."
