Chairperson of the rural municipality Hom Narayan Shrestha said that around 150 people are currently suffering from common cold and viral fever. "At least ten patients have already returned to their homes after undergoing treatment. One person is now receiving treatment in critical condition," he said.

Earlier, the rural municipality office had written to the Ministry of Health that some local residents were suffering from the coronavirus-like disease for the past three days. The rural municipality office had urged the ministry to send doctors to contain the disease.

Chairperson Shrestha informed that a team of local health workers from Jalbire Health Post have reached the rural municipality with medicines, face masks and gloves.

Some local health workers have already been mobilized amid suspicion of coronavirus-like disease in the rural municipality.

"Some patients have already been cured after viral fever outbreak," Chapagain added.

Chapagain also said that Kathmandu-based Epidemiology and Disease Control Division is sending a team of doctors to the rural municipality soon.
