SINDHUPALCHOWK, Aug 14: At least 15 persons were injured and 30 houses were buried when a massive landslide hit Lidi, Jugal Rural Municipality-2, in Sindhupalchowk on Friday morning.
The rain-triggered landslide has put scores of families in the area at risk. Vice-chairperson of Jugal Rural Municipality, Srijana Tamang said that at least 13 houses were completely damaged and 15 people were injured in the landslide.
Search on for seven people missing in landslide at Jugal
Five of the injured were airlifted to Chautara, the district headquarters, on a Nepal Army helicopter.
The whereabouts of those living in five houses is still unknown. Some 37 people have gone missing in the landslide.
Squads of Nepal Army and Nepal Police have been mobilized to carry out rescue operations in the landslide-hit area.
