Previously, external powers used to choose the prime minister but under Bhattarai´s leadership even ministers have been picked by foreign powers, Gajurel charged. Criticizing the declaration of fresh CA polls, Gajurel said that CA elections on November 22 is not possible.
Reacting to Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal´s statement that CA can be reinstated, he flatly ruled out any resurrection of the CA.
An all-party round table conference, including indigenous, Dalit, Muslim communities should be held to prepare the draft of the new constitution, Gajurel said, adding that the draft should then be endorsed through general elections which, he said, would be the best alternative to end the political turmoil.
He further said that a national consensus government is a need of the hour. The fate of UCPN (Maoist) as to whether it will split or not will be known after June 15, Gajurel said.
Addressing the program, Nepali Congress (NC) leader Manmohan Bhattarai ruled any chances of CA´s revival. "Nobody´s diktat will now make the CA come back to life," Bhattarai said, dismissing Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal´s recent assertion that the CA can still be restored.
Alleging that the current Baburam Bhattarai-led government, going beyond constitutional limits, dissolved the CA, the NC leader said new elections on November 22, as proposed by the government, is not possible.
