KATHMANDU, April 17: Nirmal Purja, also known as Nims Dai, has set a new record in climbing the world's highest peak above 8000 meters. On the day of Nepali New Year, he made a record by ascending the 8,000-meter-high peak 44 times.
At 12:15PM on Saturday, he reached the summit of the 8,091-meter-high Annapurna Himal and made the record. This achievement marks the culmination of numerous ascents above 8,000 meters," Nims Dai said. "My relentless pursuit has now culminated in this remarkable record," he added.
Nims Dai has repeatedly ascended all 14 peaks higher than 8,000 meters.
