Nine killed in bus accidents in Nuwakot, Chitwan

NUWAKOT, Sept 10: At least six people were killed and 30 others injured when a passenger bus veered off 350 meters down the road and crashed into a house in Kharanitar of Nuwakot on Saturday. 

The incident occurred at Thanabhanjyang of Shivapuri Municipality of the district. The bus (Ba 1 Kha 6348) was on its way to Kharanitar from Kathmandu when it plunged into the house of Sita Tamang at around 11 am. She sustained injuries in the accident while her house sustained severe damages.
Among the deceased are Shasi Bogati, 21, of Bidur Municipality-9, Laxmi Neupaney, 45, of Tadi Rural Municipality-5, and Thuli Maya Tamang, 67, of the same place, according to DSP Madhukar Jung Bista. Likewise, Lal Bahadur Tamang and Ujeli Mijar, whose addresses have not been ascertained yet, died while undergoing treatment in Grande Hospital, Kathmandu. Another deceased Sabina Tamang breathed her last at BP Memorial Hospital. 

Minutes after the accident, locals and security forces from Nepal Police and Nepal Army had rushed to the incident site for rescue. The injured are undergoing treatment in Grande Hospital and Green City Hospital in the capital. 

DSP Bista told Republica that the district police was yet to find out the exact cause of the accident. The bus driver is at large following the accident. 

According to police, the injured include Sher Bahadur Tamang, Ram Sharan Khatiwada, Ramesh KC, Anju Tamang, Dikshya Ghimire, Manish Dongol, Sarswati Thing, Kanchi Mijar, Karam Tiwari, Binara Pandit, Sita Pandit, Gita Khanal, Sita Maya Tamang, Rameshwar Mukhiya, Lal Bahadur Tamang, Sharmila Rai, Ujeli Mijar, Bhoj Bahadur Tamang, Kabita Tamang, Manish Dongol, Govinda Shrestha, Sanubabu Tamang, Khupren Tamang and Yam Shova Manandhar.

Three die, 27 hurt in Chitwan bus accident
CHITWAN: Three people were killed and 27 others were injured when two passenger buses collided with each other at Piple Bazaar on the East-West highway in eastern Chitwan Saturday afternoon. 
Fifteen among the injured are in serious condition, according to police. 

According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the bus (Na 5 Kha 8706) heading toward Birgunj from Narayangadh and another bus (Na 6 Kha 9125) coming from the opposite direction collided head-on.
