KATHMANDU, March 29: Nepal police have arrested 19 people on the charge of fraud of more than Rs 100 millions through the mobile application WhatsApp and Telegram.
According to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, nine Chinese citizens and 10 Nepali citizens have been arrested on charges of fraud worth more than Rs 100 million in the name of online businesses.

It has been revealed that they have rented houses in different places of Kathmandu to carry out this fraud business. Police said Chinese nationals are mainly involved in illegal businesses.
They illegally operated an office and chatted with various people on the social network WhatsApp and cheated saying that they would benefit from business through online.
A complaint was lodged with the police that the people involved in the fraud conducted online classes through a channel called "Operation Teacher" on Telegram and cheated by showing various temptations.
The police have also seized some electronic items used in the fraud from various places in Kathmandu.
Most of them were arrested from Budhanilkantha-2 Mahadevkhola and Chandol area of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
