Nima's 8th offering

KATHMANDU, May 14: Pop virtuoso Nima Rumba proved his drawing power, pulling a full house of media people and music industry insiders at the album release party of “PROstyle Rangaun Ki Ma”, Thursday, at the Hotel Annapurna, Durbar Marg.



Rumba’s 8th offering in four years, the album was jointly released by long time friends of the singer, Abhay Pidi Gorkhali, Rabi Thapa, Pancha Man Maharjan, Anil Sthapit, Pasang Namgel, and Bir Bahadur Tamang. [break]



Dabur Nepal’s Head of Marketing – Mr. Abhaya Pd. Gorkhalee shared that the company will be supporting local artists and music, with Rumba being the first in line.

A very humbled Rumba stated that it was a very encouraging move from Dabur Nepal to join hands with local artists to promote Nepali music.



He thanked his fans for their support and requested them to support local artists as well.



The eight songs penned by Rumba himself have been arranged by the likes of Manoj KC, Tsujil Karmacharya, Gopal Rasaily, Biwas Poudel and Mohit Munal.







A potpourri of musical genre, the album boasts from pop, rock, traditional selo / folk, sentimental, along with a bhajan titled “Garu Bhakti” on the memory of late Guru Dielgo Khentsey Rinpochey’s 100th Death Anniversary.



Three videos premiered at the event, all of which have been directed under the watchful eyes of Pratap Singh.



“He is just such a sweet human being, and highly professional. I had a ball shooting for the video,” gushed Sahana Bajracharya, Miss Earth Nepal 2010, who stars in the video for the song “Jaadu”.



Backed by singer Kalyan Singh, Rumba mesmerized fans with the song “Saas”. He revealed that the song ‘Buijhinchinn Uni’ was inspired by his wife Sheli Rumba, and is dedicated to women.



The memorable night also included a special presentation that recollected Rumba’s two decade long journey into the Nepali music industry.



Winners of the ‘PROstyle Music of Your Choice’, a request show on Image Channel, were announced at the launch party and were gifted autographed albums.



Three bumper prize winners were also revealed (courtesy Life -fashion store) and prizes worth Rs 40,000 were also handed out.
