KATHMANDU, March 19: The 8th edition of Echoes in the Valley is scheduled to commence on March 22 and 23 at Hanuman Dhoka Museum and Itum Bahal, respectively.
During this two-day music festival, performers from India, Mauritius, Spain, Ukraine, and the US will take the stage. Among the artists set to perform at EITV are Dab Dab Dapha, Dahna and the Rajamati Choir, Himalayan Highway, Sonagi Blues, and Sur Sudha.
Organizers have indicated that the event will bring together approximately 150 artists, along with two workshops, two captivating exhibitions, guided heritage walks, and an array of stalls offering family-friendly and children's activities, local cuisine, and homegrown products.
Echoes in the Valley Music Festival – resonance edition
This edition of the festival will also include a conference focusing on the importance of music as a form of intangible cultural heritage.
On the opening day, the instrumental band Sur Sudha will present a performance. Additionally, there will be showcases by the Mithileshwar Jhijhiya team from Janakpur, local Dhimey groups from Itum Bahal, Siyom – an experimental folk-based ensemble from Manipur, India, and Abaim – a musical troupe from Mauritius. Altogether, the festival will feature performances by artists representing six different countries.
