Nikesh finished with six points, Madan Krishna Kayastha with 5.5 points (progressive 24) and Prajwal Rajopadhyay with 5.5 points (progressive 23.5).
In the U-15 category, Rupesh finished with six points (progressive 24). Kathmandu´s Bijay Raj Aryal (6 points, progressive 23.5) and Bhaktapur´s Shri Krishna Prajapati (5 points, progressive 24) claimed second and third places respectively.
Winners in both categories received Rs. 5,000 each while the runners-up received Rs. 3,000 each. Third place holders pursed Rs. 2,000 each. Russian grand master Aleck Phomeny gave away the prizes to the winners.
A total of 70 players (27 in U-19 and 43 in U-15) participated in the tournament.
The winners of the U-19 category will be participating in the Junior Chess Championship from July 1. Similarly, the top seven from the U-19 category and top three from U-15 category are due to play in a friendly tournament in Assam, India later this month.
