NHRC urges transport operators to seek alternative forms of protest

KATHMANDU, June 3: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged transport operators to adopt alternative forms of protest.



Issuing a statement on Monday, the commission called on transport entrepreneurs to remain sensitive to the impact their actions could have on the rights of the general public.

While the right to peaceful protest on matters of disagreement is guaranteed in a democracy, the NHRC emphasized that no one should neglect their responsibilities toward the public while exercising their own rights.
