NHRC urges agitating parties to respect human rights

Kathmandu, Nov. 22: The Social Justice and Human Rights Committee of the Legislature-Parliament and office bearers of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Sunday held discussions on the humanitarian crisis caused due to blockade imposed by India.

The chairman and members of the NHRC have drawn serious attention of the government through the parliamentary committee as people's life has turned worse from bad due to crisis of medicines, petrol and cooking gas.On the occasion, they urged the agitating parties to launch their agitations in a peaceful manner as torching and vandalizing the patients carrying ambulance was against the international norms and values of human rights.

NHRC Chairman Anup Raj Sharma said that monitoring and research in the cases of human rights violations occurred before and after the constitution promulgation are going on and would be given continued in the future as well.

The NHRC has also drawn attention of the concerned stakeholders and governments to the skyrocketing price and artificial shortage of the daily commodities. RSS
