Kathmandu, June 16: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has expressed serious concerns over several striking political parties, including the CPN (Maoist), imposing Sunday´s nationwide strike and its impacts on the people´s life.

Issuing a press statement today, the NHRC has called upon all political parties and agitating forces to be aware of impacts of such a strike on different aspects of daily life, including education, health and transportation.

“Strikes suffer national economy and development of the country. NHRC has been appealing to all aspects of the country not to call on such kinds of agitation program. NHRC reminds it at this time too,” reads the statement.
