NHRC calls for relocating Kaski landslide victims

KATHMANDU, Aug 2: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the government to relocate the locals of landslide-hit villages of Kaski district to a safer place. Issuing a press release on Sunday, the NHRC has urged government to provide relief and reparation to the victims.

Likewise, the commission has asked the government to make arrangements for free treatment of the injured individuals.

The commission has also asked the government to identify places with high risk of landslides and work toward controlling casualties and damages. Landslides in Lumle, Bhadaure-Tamagi and Dhikurpokhari villages of Kaski district on Thursday night had killed 35 people, while some people are still missing.
