UDAYAPUR, April 12: Chief of the Udayapur District Land Survey Branch Office, Shyam Babu Prasad Saha, has been arrested for taking bribe from a service-seeker promising that he would alter the blueprint of the service-seekers' land.
A team of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Regional Office, Itahari arrested him red-handed from his official quarters itself. He was caught taking Rs 50,000 as bribe from the service-seeker.
The service-seeker from Bokse, Triyuga Municipality-10 said that Saha had asked for Rs 200,000 as bribe from him for carrying out his work. In this connection, he had asked him to give him Rs 50,000 as the first installment of that amount at his quarters at 8 am today.
The CIAA team confiscated the amount from under Saha's pillow while conducting checking at the quarters, CIAA Regional Office chief Pradip Kumar Koirala said. Saha was under the CIAA's watch after complaints that he used to take bribes from service-seekers before this also. RSS
