LALITPUR, May 16: Nepali Congress has lost to CPN-UML in the race for the chief and deputy chief of Mahankal Rural Municipality in Lalitpur district held on May 14.
UML candidate for the chief of Rural Municipality Ram Chandra Dahal has defeated his closes rival NC candidate Bhimsen Ghimire.
Dahal secured 2080 votes, compared with 1722 votes for his closest rival Ghimire.
Likewise, NC candidate for the deputy chief of Rural Municipality Shushila Adhikari has lost to his closest rival UML candidate Kamala Lama Tamang.
Tamang garnered 2293 votes whereas her closest rival Adhikari got 1429 votes.
