KATHMANDU, Oct 12: The next hearing on the case involving Yograj Dhakal (also known as Regal), who is convicted in a murder case and granted amnesty under political pressure, has been scheduled for October 31.
A joint bench of three justices led by Chief Justice determined that they cannot make a decision on this matter after conducting a preliminary hearing on the writ petition filed against the government's decision to grant amnesty to Regal.
Chief Justice Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha, along with justices Anand Mohan Bhattarai and Kumar Regmi, cited previous decisions in similar cases as precedents, leading them to set the next hearing for October 31.
The justices have emphasized that the case under consideration is related to previous cases and, as such, it cannot be heard separately. Therefore, the hearing for this case has been rescheduled for October 31.
