New winery in Sankhuasabha

SANKHUWASABHA, Oct 5: A new distillery called J Bhumi Winery has been established in Chainpur of Sankhuasabha district with the authorized capital of Rs 5.7 million.



Arjun Kumar Shrestha, who was into mineral water and biscuit factories, has established the distillery in a bid to utilize the locally available resources.

According to Shrestha, the company aims to promote local resources at the national as well as international levels. [break]



“Chainpur is my birthplace and with the establishment of this industry, I would like to promote the products of my locality,” he said.

The company, at present is involved in the production of wine and brandy using locally available resources.



“Beside pineapple and apple, all the other resources needed for the production are locally available,” Shrestha said.

The factory produces red and white wines and ´Natural´ and ´X Age´ brands of Brandy at present.



The company informed that the products are currently distributed through local and district-level dealers of Kathmandu and Dharan.

He informed that the company provides direct job to 10 people and indirectly to many others.



The company is also preparing to manufacture a new local energy drink utilizing locally available resources, he added.
