New range of Acer laptops launched

KATHMANDU, Aug 11: Mercantile Office Systems (MOS), the authorized distributor for Acer laptops in Nepal, has launched Acer Iconia series of portable computers in Nepal.



The new ranges of laptops were unveiled by Pin Gek and Regina Lee, of Acer Singapore.[break]



Acer Iconia Touch book Dual Screen Tablet and Acer Iconia Tab (A500 and W500) are the two new models that have been launched on Thursday.



The Acer Iconia Touch book is the world´s first 10-finger multi-touch, dual screen tablet. The company claimed that the laptop combines the versatility of a 14 inch form with the unique dual touch screen layout and highly intuitive multi-touch functionality, which radically enhances computing experience.



“With this tablet, customer can navigate personalized gestures, spread web pages on both screens, and experience true touch freedom,” said the company.



The futuristic device is also unique for its true touch excellence, control, comprehensive content management, smart performance and anywhere connectivity. The Acer Icon Touch book is priced at Rs 125,000.



Unveiling the new range of laptops, Chief Executive Office (CEO) of MOS, Sanjib Raj Bhandari said that the company is providing these futuristic devices to the costumers at an affordable price, with the best of after sales services.



Acer Iconia tab A500, on the other hand is an android tablet device, running on Android 3.0 (Honeycomb). The device boasts of Dual Core 1Ghz ARM Cortex-A9 processor along with full size USB port. Acer Iconia W500 is a windows tablet device running on Windows Home 7 premium OS and carries 1Ghz AMD C-50 processor with 2GB DDR2 RAM and 2 USB connectors. The Iconia series are both priced at Rs 45,000.



The company also awarded their top performing dealers in the program.



The Wave Group Trading was awarded as the best seller of Acer desktop sales while Max International received the best performer award for notebook (laptop) sales. The best performer award in the overall segment was given to Dinesh Trading House of Nepalgunj for performing equally well in both desktop and notebook segments.
