Organizing a press conference in the capital on Wednesday, Dhirendra Pradhan, general secretary of ANFA stated that the tournament to be held in the knockout format will feature altogether 60 teams. [break]The tournament sponsored by Nepal Bank Limited is running in the second year as per the five-year sponsorship deal signed by the bank.
According to Nepal Bank, the bank will provide Rs 500,000 as the sponsor. "The event is being organized as part of long-time association with ANFA," said Nepal Bank CEO Maheshwar Lal Shrestha.
Meanwhile, general secretary Pradhan stated that the best players from the tournament will be picked for the national U-16 team for upcoming AFC U-16 Qualifiers and SAFF U-16 Championship.
The winner and the runner up will be awarded Rs 100,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively. Similarly, best players in four different positions -- goalkeeping, defense, midfield, forward -- and the best coach will be given attractive prizes.
