Primax International, the sole authorized distributor of Canon cameras for Nepal, said the new models have been introduced in a bid to bolster Canon´s market in the country and also provide wide range of options to the customers.[break]
Canon EOS 5D MARK III, the DSLR camera, has 61-point Auto-Focus (AF) system, which makes it easier to track subjects with higher levels of precision and speed, said Suman Neupane, showroom manager of Canon store at City Center, Kamalpokhari. He noted the model was introduced targeting advanced amateur photographers, filmmakers and professional photographers.
The company has priced EOS 5D MARK III at Rs 300,000. The model is equipped with full-frame 22.3 megapixel CMOS sensor with a rapid drive that can shoot up to 6 frames per second (fps). It is also powered by Canon´s state-of-the-art DIGIC 5+ image processor.
The different models of compact digital cameras that hit the market on Thursday inlcude PowerShot A810, PowerShot A2300, PowerShot A2400 IS, PowerShot A3400 IS, PowerShot A4000 IS, PowerShot SX260 HS and PowerShot SX240. These models are priced in a range of Rs 7,600 to Rs 4,6000.
"Unlike EOS 5D Mark III, compact digital cameras - also known as power shot cameras will serve regular need of general public so that they could capture the significant moments of their lives in the form of great-looking image”," said Neupane.
The new models of compact cameras share many core features, but also have subtle differences than others once which are available in the market, Nepuane told Republica.
PowerShot A4000 IS comes with 8x zoom lens, while the others have 5x zoom lenses. The PowerShot A3400 IS has a touch screen. PowerShot A2300 and PowerShot A810 makes use of Digital IS, which will digitally reduce motion blur.
Similarly, PowerShot SX260 HS and PowerShot SX240 HS are known as the world´s slimmest 20x optical zoom digital compact cameras. These digital compact cameras are equipped with powerful 20x optical zoom lens, advanced DIGIC 5 image processor. PowerShot SX260 HS has GPS capability too.
